Abu Dhabi’s social development ecosystem has received a significant boost through a new partnership between The Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an and Waha Capital, an Abu Dhabi-listed investment management company. The agreement sees Waha Capital contributing AED 6 million to Ma’an to support a range of key community-led initiatives across the emirate.
A Strategic Partnership for Social Progress
The collaboration, formalized by a signing between His Excellency Eng. Abdullah Humaid Al Ameri, Director General of Ma’an, and Mohamed Hussain Al Nowais, Managing Director of Waha Capital, aims to channel funds toward critical social priorities. The contribution will be deployed across vital sectors including education, health, environment, and social services, aligning with the shared goals of both organizations to improve the quality of life for Abu Dhabi residents.
This partnership underscores a joint commitment to creating sustainable and positive change by empowering community-focused programmes that address societal needs.
Fostering Community and Collaboration
Leaders from both entities highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in driving meaningful social impact.
H.E. Eng. Abdullah Humaid Al Ameri, Director General of Ma’an, said: “Partnerships are at the heart of our work at the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an. Through this collaboration we will utilise the generous contribution to empower partners to lead and deliver major programmes and initiatives that address social priorities. We will shine a light on the impact partnerships can achieve in amplifying social impact, promoting community development and building a cooperative society.”
Mohamed Hussain Al Nowais, Managing Director of Waha Capital, added: “Our partnership with the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an reflects our commitment to supporting Abu Dhabi’s social development priorities and creating meaningful, lasting impact. At Waha Capital, we believe long-term value extends beyond financial performance. Through this collaboration, we are proud to contribute to initiatives that strengthen communities and support sustainable, positive change across the Emirate.”
Immediate Impact Through Community Action
The collaboration has already commenced its on-the-ground activities. The first programme saw volunteers from both organizations distributing ‘Meer boxes’ containing Ramadan essentials to residents in Abu Dhabi, showcasing the partnership’s focus on immediate community engagement.
Such initiatives are central to Ma’an’s objective of fostering a culture of shared responsibility and encouraging active participation from community members in building a more collaborative and supportive society.
