Creativa Innovation Hubs, an initiative by the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) under Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Information Technology, has announced a strategic partnership with Nile University’s Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Competitiveness Centre (IECC). This collaboration aims to power the “Gig-Skill Boost” program, an initiative supported by the Banque Misr Foundation for Community Development. The partnership is designed to equip the Egyptian workforce with the necessary tools to navigate and excel in the rapidly evolving global freelance economy.
Empowering Post-Graduates Through Digital Freelancing
The Gig-Skill Boost program is structured as a free online training scholarship specifically targeting recent Egyptian graduates. By focusing on practical digital skills and business acumen, the initiative seeks to bridge the gap between traditional academic education and the demands of the modern gig economy. Participants will receive specialized training intended to help them secure sustainable income through independent work, effectively turning the freelance sector into a viable career path for the nation’s youth.
Strengthening the National Gig Economy
This partnership aligns with Egypt’s broader digital transformation goals by fostering a more resilient and skilled labor force. By providing access to high-quality training in freelance management and digital services, Creativa and its partners aim to boost the competitiveness of Egyptian freelancers on international platforms. The initiative not only supports individual career growth but also contributes to the national economy by increasing the inflow of diverse digital services and remote work opportunities.
