The Al Nahda Women’s Association in Dubai, through its Training and Consulting Department, has launched an innovative new program titled “Creative Emirati Woman: From Empowerment to Production.” Developed in collaboration with the Tarahum Charity Foundation, the initiative is designed to empower Emirati women in the field of fashion design and tailoring.
A Vision For Economic Independence
Dr. Fatima Al Falsi, Director-General of the Al Nahda Women’s Association, affirmed that the organization continues its pioneering role in empowering Emirati women and strengthening their participation in the national economy by launching targeted initiatives that translate national vision into sustainable, practical programs.
“The initiative embodies this direction by moving Emirati women from the qualification and training stage to the production and economic independence stage,” said Dr. Al Falsi. She added that this effort enhances their role in the creative industries sector and supports the comprehensive development journey of the UAE.
From Skill Development To Entrepreneurship
Lulwa Ahmed Al Farsi, Acting Director of the Training and Consulting Department, detailed the program’s structure, which targets 20 Emirati women. The initiative provides a specialized, three-stage training program that begins with vocational qualification and culminates in commercial production and entrepreneurship. This ensures participants transition effectively from learning to achieving economic sustainability.
The foundational level of the program has already been completed, spanning three months and comprising 68 hours of practical training. This initial phase focused on equipping participants with essential skills in women’s clothing tailoring, handling tools and equipment, and executing practical pieces according to quality standards.
