In a significant recognition of local innovation, Tunisian ClimateTech startup ProVerdy has been awarded the BYD – Sustainability prize. The award was presented during the Women Entrepreneurs in Tunisia 2026 awards ceremony, organized by Managers Magazine, where global electric mobility leader BYD Tunisia sponsored the sustainability category.
Accelerating The Green Transition
The award was presented to Souha Bejaoui, CEO and founder of ProVerdy, a startup dedicated to accelerating the environmental transition for businesses through technology. ProVerdy has developed an AI-powered SaaS platform that enables organizations to precisely measure, reduce, and offset their carbon footprint across their entire value chain.
The platform’s features include a real-time carbon dashboard to monitor Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, personalized AI-driven recommendations to reduce environmental impact, and a transparent carbon offsetting mechanism linked to reforestation and renewable energy projects. Additionally, it automates ESG and RSE reports that comply with international standards like the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064.
A Recognition of Tunisian Innovation
This accolade highlights the growing prominence of Tunisian startups tackling critical global challenges. By integrating advanced technology with tangible environmental impact, ProVerdy exemplifies the kind of solutions needed to address the climate crisis.
“Receiving the BYD – Sustainability award is a great honor and a recognition that goes beyond me personally. It is proof that Tunisia is capable of producing world-class technological solutions to face the climate crisis,” said Souha Bejaoui. “At ProVerdy, we believe that every organization, regardless of its size, can be an actor in the ecological transition. This award gives us additional strength to accelerate and move forward.”
BYD’s Hands-On Support For Female Founders
BYD Tunisia’s commitment extended beyond the award ceremony. The company provided tangible, ongoing support to all female entrepreneurs participating in the program who have adopted a responsible approach.
During the intensive training program leading up to the finals, BYD provided its fleet of electric vehicles to manage the participants’ transportation needs. This allowed the founders to focus entirely on developing their projects without logistical burdens, all while utilizing clean, sustainable mobility. This initiative underscores BYD’s vision of integrating sustainability into daily practice.
“BYD firmly believes that electric mobility and sustainable women’s entrepreneurship are essential pillars for building a greener and more prosperous Tunisia,” stated Mariem Khouili, Marketing and Communication Manager at BYD Tunisia. “We are proud to support these pioneering women who are helping to shape the economy of tomorrow.”
