Tunisia’s APII and UNDP Launch Think Green to Catalyze Green Tech Startups

Tunisia’s Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII), in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has launched “Think Green,” a new support program designed to foster green entrepreneurship and sustainable innovation. The initiative targets aspiring founders and early-stage startups in the southern regions of Tunisia and the governorate of Kairouan.

Fostering a Sustainable Ecosystem

The “Think Green” program is structured to guide entrepreneurs with innovative projects that deliver a measurable environmental and social impact. Its primary goal is to accelerate Tunisia’s ecological transition and promote sustainable development across its key regions.

The program targets young entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 45, including those with green project ideas, startups in their formation or launch phase, and existing businesses looking to pivot their operations toward the green economy. The specific governorates covered are Kairouan, Gafsa, Tozeur, Kebili, Gabes, Medenine, and Tataouine.

Priority Sectors and Founder Support

Applications are open until midnight on April 19, 2026, with a focus on several priority sectors. These include renewable energy, the circular economy, waste management, green mobility, clean technologies, eco-construction, environmental services, and sustainable or ecological agriculture.

Selected entrepreneurs will participate in an integrated support program to transform their ideas into viable businesses. The program offers specialized training in green entrepreneurship, personalized coaching from industry experts and advisors, and practical workshops on sustainable innovation and the circular economy. Participants will also receive support in structuring their business models and integrating into the regional green entrepreneurship ecosystem.
