In a strategic move to bolster the Moroccan startup ecosystem, Technopark (MITC) has signed a partnership agreement with La French Tech Maroc during GITEX Africa 2026. The signing ceremony, held at the Consular Residence in Marrakech, was attended by Amal El Fallah-Seghrouchni, Morocco’s Minister of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, and Anne Le Hénanff, the French Minister Delegate for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Affairs. This collaboration aims to create sustainable bridges between Moroccan and French tech landscapes, facilitating market access and expertise sharing for high-growth ventures.
Strengthening Cross Border Synergies At GITEX Africa
The agreement was formalized by Lamiae Benmakhlouf, General Manager of Technopark Maroc, and William Simoncelli, President of La French Tech Casablanca. As Morocco continues to position itself as a digital gateway to Africa, this partnership is designed to streamline the internationalization process for local startups. By leveraging the combined networks of both organizations, entrepreneurs will gain enhanced visibility and support when navigating the complexities of cross-border expansion between the MENA region and Europe.
Driving High Impact Innovation And Market Access
The partnership focuses on three primary pillars: creating durable connections between the two ecosystems, providing startups with direct access to specialized expertise, and supporting the scaling of high-impact technological projects. This initiative aligns with Technopark’s broader vision of fostering an open and connected ecosystem capable of producing projects with significant economic and social impact. The collaboration also highlights the importance of institutional support in de-risking international ventures for Moroccan entrepreneurs.
Expanding The Moroccan Tech Footprint
Technopark’s commitment to its regional expansion—with active sites in Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Agadir, and Essaouira—serves as a foundation for this international outreach. By partnering with La French Tech Maroc, which oversees the French Tech initiative under the French Ministry of Economy, Technopark is providing its 1,800+ supported startups with a direct pipeline to French innovation hubs. This strategic alignment is expected to catalyze digital and entrepreneurial initiatives, further integrating Morocco into the global digital economy.
