The Moroccan entrepreneurial ecosystem has reached a new milestone with the launch of the second cohort of the Morocco Accelerator program, featuring 19 high-potential startups. Spearheaded by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform in partnership with Technopark and the global innovation platform Plug and Play Africa, the initiative aims to bridge the gap between local innovation and international markets. Announced just ahead of GITEX Africa 2026, the program underscores the Kingdom’s strategic shift toward deep-tech and high-velocity business scaling.
Strategic Focus On Artificial Intelligence And Fintech
The newly selected promotion represents a diverse array of strategic sectors, including fintech, healthtech, mobility, and agritech, with a notably heavy emphasis on artificial intelligence. This alignment with global technology trends reflects the growing maturity of Moroccan founders, including members of the diaspora, who are increasingly building solutions with international scalability in mind. By focusing on segments with high added value, the program seeks to transform Morocco into a competitive center for sophisticated technological ventures.
Scaling Through The Maroc Digital 2030 Strategy
The Morocco Accelerator is a core component of the broader “Maroc Digital 2030” strategy, acting as a structural lever for startups in their expansion phase. Participants receive intensive mentorship, direct market access, and introductions to a global network of venture capitalists. Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, emphasized that the state’s role is to act as both a facilitator and catalyst, connecting companies that provide concrete answers to strategic national and regional problems with high-potential investors.
Global Connectivity Via Plug And Play Network
The partnership with Plug and Play, which operates in over 70 cities worldwide, provides Moroccan startups with an unprecedented gateway to global corporate partners and capital. This international backing is designed to de-risk Moroccan ventures for foreign investors while accelerating their path to commercial viability. The cohort’s participation in GITEX Africa 2026 serves as an immediate strategic platform to showcase their innovations to the continental tech community, further cementing Morocco’s reputation as a gateway for technology in Africa.
