The fourth edition of the Agro Syria International Exhibition has launched in Damascus, bringing together over 120 local, Arab, and international companies to showcase the latest in agricultural technology. The event, held at the Damascus Fairgrounds, is organized by the Mashhadani International Group in partnership with Syria’s Ministry of Agriculture, the Federation of Agricultural Chambers, and other key industry bodies.

A Platform for Modernizing Agriculture
Exhibitors are presenting a wide array of products and solutions aimed at Syria’s agricultural sector. Pavilions feature modern agricultural machinery, advanced irrigation technologies, alternative energy solutions for farming, and essential production supplies such as seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides. The event also highlights equipment for the livestock and poultry sectors, alongside smart farming technologies.
Government Backs Private Sector Investment
Following a tour of the exhibition, Minister of Agriculture Amjad Badr emphasized the event’s role in fostering market competition. He noted the strong interest from exhibiting companies to establish a presence in the Syrian market.
Badr stated that the Syrian government actively encourages the private sector, Syrians abroad, and Arab partners to invest in the country’s agricultural sector. He pointed out that despite its challenges, the sector holds significant potential and investment opportunities that are crucial for its development in the coming years.
The Minister added that the ministry’s strategy is focused on developing the agricultural sector to achieve food security, a goal that requires collaborative efforts and investment from both public and private entities.
Fostering Industry Collaboration
The exhibition serves as a key networking and knowledge-sharing event for industry professionals. Hussein Al-Blan, Head of the Syrian Veterinary Syndicate, remarked that the event is an important opportunity for veterinarians to learn about the latest veterinary medicines, vaccines, and technologies available in the Syrian market.
Similarly, Mustafa Al-Mustafa, Head of the Agricultural Engineers Syndicate, viewed the exhibition as a vital platform for discovering the latest in agricultural mechanization and production techniques.
Event organizer Khalaf Mashhadani of the Mashhadani International Group confirmed that the exhibition’s agenda includes scientific lectures and consultative meetings between the Ministry of Agriculture and industry specialists. He also noted that the event will feature announcements from a holding company and the launch of a new European agency for one of the participating firms.
