The launch of AgriTech Jordan comes as the local agricultural industry grapples with mounting pressures, including climate change, significant resource scarcity, and rising production costs. The initiative aims to foster innovative, tech-based solutions to these problems by backing entrepreneurs who are developing sustainable and scalable agricultural business models. The ultimate goal is to generate high-value jobs and strengthen Jordan’s national food security.

An Integrated Support System for Startups

AgriTech Jordan is positioned as a comprehensive support environment for agricultural innovators. The incubator will offer specialized programs focused on turning promising ideas into viable commercial projects. Participating startups will gain access to tailored incubation and acceleration tracks, training and capacity-building workshops, mentorship from industry experts, and crucial connections to funding sources and investors. The incubator will also provide support for market access to improve the success rate and long-term sustainability of the ventures.

Eng. Ali Abu Nokta, head of the Agricultural Engineers Syndicate, stated that Jordan’s agricultural future depends on a shift towards smart farming grounded in technology and knowledge. “This incubator represents a genuine national platform to embrace the ideas of young people and transform them into successful production projects,” he said, adding that the syndicate will leverage its resources, branches, and technical staff to support the incubator’s programs.

Dr. Imad Ayasra, president of the Jordanian Agricultural Entrepreneurship and Innovation Association, described the incubator as the practical application of the association’s vision. He noted, “AgriTech Jordan is not just a project, but a national platform for creating opportunities and an enabling environment to turn entrepreneurial ideas into startups capable of growth and competition.”
