Dalal Hussein, Public Relations Supervisor at the Fund, stated that the participation stems from a sense of national responsibility, particularly given the current challenges facing the SME sector.

“Our participation is driven by our belief in the importance of an active institutional presence in community and national initiatives, and our commitment to supporting project owners is a continuous priority,” Hussein said.

She added that the Fund is actively monitoring the needs of entrepreneurs and working to develop practical services that help them adapt to market changes, aligning with the state’s broader goals for fostering entrepreneurship.

Unlocking Practical Benefits for SMEs

The National Fund for SME Development provides several key services aimed at creating a more flexible and responsive environment for founders. A primary offering is registration in the National Register for SMEs, an official record that provides businesses with a range of advantages.

Registered projects gain a price preference when bidding on government tenders and are given priority for procurement by public entities. The Fund also facilitates access to the Central Agency for Public Tenders’ classifications and offers platforms to display products and services, boosting the competitiveness of local projects.

Spotlighting Local Success Stories

The “Saa’a” initiative has already put a spotlight on businesses financed by the Fund, showcasing diverse and innovative models.

Among the highlighted projects were “Beit Nasser” and “BabiTomy,” a startup specializing in fresh, healthy meals for children. BabiTomy was praised as a compelling example of innovation that directly addresses the needs of Kuwaiti families with a practical, high-demand product.
