Agadir’s Cité de l’Innovation Souss-Massa is set to host a regional hackathon aimed at students and young innovators from May 15 to 17, 2026. The event is part of the “ABRID ANIMATION” program, designed to cultivate a stronger culture of creativity and entrepreneurship among the region’s youth.

A Collaborative Push for Regional Innovation
This initiative is backed by a broad coalition of public and private sector players, signalling a coordinated effort to bolster the local innovation scene. Key organizers include the Wilaya of the Souss-Massa region, the Regional Council, the Regional Investment Center (CRI), and the Souss-Massa branch of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM).
Academic and professional institutions are also heavily involved, with participation from Ibn Zohr University, the Office of Vocational Training (OFPPT), the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services, and the Souss-Massa Marketing Cluster. This partnership aims to provide a robust support structure for aspiring entrepreneurs.
From Idea to Viable Project in Three Days
The three-day event is structured as an intensive training program for participants. The agenda includes hands-on workshops focused on idea development, building business models, and technical coaching. Collaborative work sessions are also planned to help teams refine their concepts and prepare them for market entry.
The hackathon, held under the banner of “Innovation.. Creativity.. Entrepreneurship,” will culminate in a final pitch session. Teams will present their projects to a jury of entrepreneurship and innovation specialists. The event will conclude with an awards ceremony recognizing the most promising projects, promoting healthy competition among the region’s emerging talent.
