ZINC Jordan recently concluded the “Prompt & Play” hackathon, a collaborative initiative with Tamatem Games and Replit designed to push the boundaries of game development through artificial intelligence. Held from May 14 to May 16 at the King Hussein Business Park, the event gathered developers and creators to build next-generation gaming experiences using cutting-edge AI tools and cloud-based development environments.
Innovative Solutions In AI Driven Gaming
The hackathon challenged participants to move beyond traditional coding by integrating generative AI and prompt engineering into their development workflows. To facilitate this, Replit provided teams with dedicated credits, allowing them to leverage high-performance computing resources and collaborative coding tools in real-time. The competition culminated in a final demo day where teams presented their interactive projects to a panel of experts from the regional gaming and tech ecosystem.
Awarding The Top Talent
The competition recognized three standout teams for their technical execution and creative use of AI in game mechanics. The first-place prize of 1,500 JOD was awarded to Dr.Prompt, whose project demonstrated the most effective integration of prompt-based logic. Second place, along with 1,000 JOD, went to Meow Battle, while the third-place prize of 500 JOD was secured by the team behind Time Rift.
Strengthening The Jordanian Tech Ecosystem
The partnership between ZINC, the innovation arm of Zain Jordan, and Tamatem Games, the leading mobile games publisher in the Arabic-speaking market, underscores a growing commitment to specialized tech talent in the Kingdom. By providing a platform where local developers can experiment with global tools like Replit, the initiative aims to position Jordan as a regional hub for gaming innovation and AI application.
