A High-Conviction Bet on PropTech
DFDF’s commitment to Camber Creek underscores its strategy of backing sector-focused fund managers with a disciplined investment approach. By investing in a firm with deep expertise in real estate technology, DFDF aims to catalyze innovation within the region’s property market.
Nader Albastaki, Managing Director of DFDF, commented on the partnership, stating that Camber Creek represents the type of disciplined, high-conviction fund manager DFDF seeks to support, in line with Dubai’s economic goals.
Inside Camber Creek’s Playbook
Founded in 2011, Camber Creek focuses on Series A and growth-stage companies transforming the real estate industry, from property management and tenant services to digital transaction platforms. The firm is known for its concentrated investment model, typically holding 15 to 20 companies per fund.
A key part of its due diligence is “Beta Labs,” a proprietary program allowing potential portfolio companies to get direct feedback from Camber Creek’s strategic partners before an investment is made. This process provides powerful market validation early on. Over the last decade, the firm has backed over 47 PropTech startups, including Bilt Rewards, VTS, and Notarize, and has seen successful exits through sales to companies like JLL and WorkWave.
Building a US-MENA PropTech Corridor
This partnership is designed to create a two-way street for innovation. For Camber Creek, the commitment from DFDF will help expand its presence in the Middle East. For its portfolio companies, the deal provides direct access to DFDF’s extensive regional network, offering a clear pathway for US-based PropTech startups to enter and scale within MENA markets.
“DFDF’s commitment will help expand Camber Creek’s presence in the Middle East and strengthen its ability to back transformative PropTech companies globally,” said Jake Fingert, Managing Partner at Camber Creek.
