Riyadh-based enterprise AI firm MOZN has rolled out its next-generation Real-Time Transaction Screening (RTS) technology, an AI-native engine built to help financial institutions screen payments without slowing down commerce. The new system is designed to address major inefficiencies in legacy compliance tools as global payment volumes continue to increase.
Quick Facts
- New AI-native Real-Time Transaction Screening (RTS) engine.
- Addresses up to 95% false positive alert rates.
- Natively supports modern payment standard ISO 20022.
- Part of a unified financial crime prevention platform.
A System Overwhelmed by False Alarms
Financial institutions are under increasing pressure to modernize their compliance systems. As transaction volumes grow and payment standards evolve, legacy screening tools often struggle, generating a high volume of false positives. Industry estimates suggest that up to 95 percent of alerts from these older systems are false alarms.
This forces compliance teams to spend as much as 90 percent of their time reviewing alerts that pose no actual risk. The core issue is a “one-size-fits-all” screening logic that fails to adapt to different payment types, corridors, or risk profiles, leading to operational backlogs and alert fatigue.
An AI-Driven, Risk-Based Approach
MOZN’s new RTS technology aims to solve this with an AI-driven engine that screens every entity across the entire transaction message, not just the beneficiary. This provides complete screening coverage and improves accuracy. The system natively supports modern formats like ISO 20022 (MX) and ISO 15022 (MT), ensuring it can handle complex, data-rich payment messages.
A key feature is the introduction of “Configurable Screening Templates.” This allows institutions to create and enforce risk-based screening rules, applying stricter controls to high-risk geographies or transaction types while allowing low-risk payments to be processed more quickly. This shifts the model from blanket screening to a more intelligent, targeted approach.
“As payment ecosystems evolve in scale and complexity, speed alone is no longer enough. What institutions need is intelligence built into every transaction,” said Malik Alyoussef, Co-founder, Chief Product & Technology Officer at MOZN. “With our next-generation Real-Time Transaction Screening technology, we are moving the industry from a one-size-fits-all model to an intelligent, risk-based approach that enables regulatory compliance at scale without slowing down the speed of commerce.”
