DMZ Cairo, a growing hub for innovators in Egypt, recently concluded a series of four masterclasses aimed at equipping the next generation of entrepreneurs with foundational skills. The sessions provided aspiring founders with critical insights into building a startup, designing user experiences, and leveraging artificial intelligence.

Quick Facts

  • Four masterclasses hosted for aspiring founders.
  • Topics included startup basics, UX, storytelling, and AI.
  • Part of DMZ Cairo’s ecosystem-building efforts in Egypt.

From Idea to Execution: A Founder’s Toolkit

The series kicked off by addressing the fundamental building blocks of any new venture. Louis Ravenscroft led a session titled “How to Start a Startup,” offering a practical guide on the essential steps every founder needs to navigate in the early stages.

Following this, Mayar Hossam focused on the user, guiding attendees on how to create compelling user experiences. The workshop emphasized the importance of human-centric design to ensure products resonate with their target audience, a crucial factor for gaining traction in a competitive market.

Crafting Narratives and Building With AI

Beyond product and strategy, the masterclasses also tackled the softer, yet equally critical, skills of communication. Nala Kamel Kamal led a session on storytelling and public speaking, training founders to articulate their vision and pitch their ideas effectively.

The series concluded with a forward-looking workshop by Salma Medhat, who explored the opportunities for entrepreneurs in the rapidly growing AI space. The session provided a framework for how founders can launch and scale businesses powered by artificial intelligence, tapping into one of the most significant technology trends today.

Building a Community Beyond a Single Event

The masterclasses reflect DMZ Cairo‘s wider commitment to fostering a collaborative environment for entrepreneurs at all stages. The organization stated that the high energy and engagement during the sessions led to new ideas and potential collaborations among attendees. While this series has concluded, DMZ Cairo has indicated that it is just the beginning of its programming for the local startup community.
