In one of Bahrain’s fastest startup exits, AI engineering platform Servable has been acquired by Tarabut, MENA’s largest regulated open banking platform. The deal, announced in January 2026, comes just two years after Servable was founded, integrating its specialized AI infrastructure directly into Tarabut’s open finance network across the GCC.
Quick Facts
- Timeline: Founded in 2024, acquired by Tarabut in January 2026.
- Core Tech: Full-stack AI platform for regulated financial institutions.
- Acquisition: Strategic deal to embed AI into Tarabut’s infrastructure.
Building for a Regulated World
Servable was founded by Mohamed Alderazi in 2024 to solve a critical problem for financial institutions, healthcare providers, and government bodies: moving AI projects from experimentation to production without breaching regulatory compliance.
While many generic AI tools exist, they often fail to provide the governance, explainability, and data audit trails required by regulators. When a bank uses an AI model for a lending decision, it must be able to explain how the decision was made. Servable built a platform to address this from the ground up.
The platform consists of three core components. Data Agent generates synthetic data to train models safely without exposing real customer information. AI Lab offers a secure environment for model training and stress-testing. Finally, AI Gateway manages production deployment with built-in governance, monitoring, and cost controls. This integrated approach provides an auditable, regulator-ready system without needing to combine tools from multiple vendors.
An Unconventional Path to Growth
Servable’s growth story sidestepped the typical path of multiple funding rounds and gradual market penetration. Instead, its trajectory was defined by a strategic acquisition that occurred just as the company was gaining public recognition.
In December 2025, Servable won first place at the 22nd StartUp Bahrain Pitch competition, an event supported by The Labour Fund (Tamkeen). This win provided significant validation just one month before the acquisition by Tarabut was announced.
The acquisition fundamentally changed Servable’s scale overnight. Instead of signing clients one by one, its technology is now being integrated into Tarabut’s platform, which connects to over 90% of banks in Bahrain and around 60% of the Saudi banking market. The goal is to power high-value AI applications like income verification, credit risk assessment, and fraud automation across Tarabut’s network.
A Bahraini Ecosystem Success Story
Servable’s rapid journey highlights the growing maturity of Bahrain’s startup ecosystem. The visibility gained from the StartUp Bahrain Pitch competition placed the company directly in front of strategic institutional players.
The deal itself, a Bahrain-founded company acquiring another to enhance its tech stack, signals a new phase for the local ecosystem. It demonstrates that value is not only created when local startups are bought by international firms, but also when they acquire each other to build stronger, regionally-focused platforms.
Mohamed Alderazi, Founder of Servable, credits the local environment for the company’s success. “Bahrain gave us something rare for an early-stage company in a regulated space: proximity,” he said. “The environment, shaped by institutions like Tamkeen and StartUp Bahrain, let us build for financial-services compliance from day one, alongside the people who actually set those standards. That closeness between startups and scaled institutions is what carried Servable from an idea to a platform a company like Tarabut could absorb and scale across the GCC.”
