Media City Qatar has launched a new series of media insight papers to analyze emerging trends across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the wider Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The initiative, developed in partnership with technology research group Omdia, aims to equip industry stakeholders with regional data and analysis on a rapidly changing market.

Decoding Regional Content Shifts

The first two publications from the series focus on the creator economy and changing content preferences. The initial paper dissects the rise of microdrama in the GCC, analyzing the increasing popularity of short-form serialized stories, audience demand, and production models shaped by mobile-first consumption habits.

A second paper, set to be released in the coming weeks, will explore the growth of video podcasting. It will cover audience engagement, platform dynamics, monetization strategies, and the influence of artificial intelligence in content creation. Future reports will cover Media City Qatar’s other key focus areas, including Gaming & Interactive, Screen, Broadcast & Music, and Tech.
