Dubizzle Group Deepens Proptech Play with Strategic Investment in Takeem

3 Min Read

Dubizzle Group, the UAE-based classifieds giant, has announced a strategic partnership and investment in local proptech startup Takeem. The deal makes Dubizzle Group’s property portals, Bayut and dubizzle, the exclusive partners for Takeem’s rental guarantee solution, further expanding the group’s strategy to build an integrated digital rental ecosystem.

Quick Facts

  • Dubizzle Group backs UAE proptech Takeem.
  • Offers first GCC rental guarantee solution.
  • Follows recent investment in payments platform Tern.

Building an End-to-End Rental Ecosystem

This investment, made through the company’s early-stage arm Dubizzle Group Ventures, follows last month’s backing of rental payments platform Tern. While Tern provides tenants with flexible payment options, Takeem addresses the other side of the equation by offering landlords protection against rental defaults.

The two partnerships signal a clear strategy to create a comprehensive rental experience on Bayut and dubizzle, covering everything from property search and payments to income protection and trust.

“Takeem is solving one of the most important gaps in the rental journey,” said Haider Ali Khan, CEO of Dubizzle Group UAE. “With Takeem, we are giving landlords and agents a credible way to take default risk off the table, while Tern gives tenants a much-needed payment solution. Together, these partnerships allow us to support the full rental ecosystem.”

De-Risking the UAE Property Market

Takeem’s Rental Guarantee is the first product of its kind in the GCC. It protects landlords against non-payment from tenants and also includes emergency maintenance coverage for urgent property repairs. This creates a more secure and predictable rental process for property owners, agents, and tenants, while also facilitating monthly digital direct debit payments.

Rakesh Mavath, Co-Founder of Takeem, stated, “Partnering with Dubizzle Group allows us to bring Rental Guarantee to a much wider audience through Bayut and dubizzle, embedding protection into the rental journey where it matters most. Together, we look forward to helping landlords and agents reduce risk.”

Founded by Rakesh Mavath and Pooja Vithlani, Takeem has already seen significant traction, having onboarded over 100,000 units. The company reported that client onboarding has increased by 900% over the past two months, signaling strong market demand for its solution.
