Talabat, the Dubai-headquartered everyday app, has released its ‘Giving Back’ report for the first half of 2026, revealing that its integrated charity platform facilitated the delivery of over 56 million meals across the region. The report underscores a significant increase in user participation, with customer donations growing by nearly 25% year-on-year.

Quick Facts

  • Over €3.9 million in charitable contributions raised
  • Customer donations increased by nearly 25%
  • More than 18,000 kilograms of food repurposed

Integrating Giving into Everyday Orders

Talabat has embedded its ‘Giving Back’ initiative directly into its core platform, making charitable contributions a seamless part of the customer checkout and payment process. This strategy moves away from traditional corporate charity drives by allowing users to make small, traceable donations with their daily orders. During the first six months of 2026, this approach resulted in over 450,000 donations from more than 86,000 individual donors.

May Youssef, Senior Director of Corporate Affairs at talabat, commented on the results: “Giving Back reflects the role we believe talabat can play beyond everyday convenience. In the first half of 2026, our approach helped deliver more than 56 million meals, supported by our network of licensed charity partners – with donations growing almost 25% year on year. These numbers are a powerful reminder that when technology is built around purpose, small acts of generosity can create meaningful impact at a regional scale.”

Scaling Impact Through Regional Partnerships

The initiative’s reach is powered by a network of over 55 licensed and accredited charity partners across the MENA region. While these organizations manage on-the-ground humanitarian efforts, Talabat provides the digital infrastructure, payment systems, and user base to help them scale their impact. This model enables millions of small actions to aggregate into substantial, compliant support for local communities.

Beyond direct donations, the report also highlighted the company’s efforts to reduce food waste. In the UAE alone, Talabat’s food rescue programs repurposed more than 18,000 kilograms of surplus fresh produce, redirecting it to communities in need.
