From PhD Research to Global Recognition

What began as a research idea during the PhD of Founder and CEO, Dr. Asrar Damdam, has evolved into a high-growth startup. Uvera’s mission is to tackle food waste and enhance food safety through its proprietary technology.

A key moment for the company was its feature on the Nasdaq billboard in New York’s Times Square, celebrating Morgan Stanley’s investment. Dr. Damdam described the moment as a powerful reminder of how far a research idea can travel when supported by the right partners.

Tackling Food Waste with DeepTech

Uvera is developing a platform that combines proprietary spoilage-inhibition technologies with IoT and blockchain to extend the shelf life of fresh produce. This helps producers, distributors, and retailers minimize food loss and improve operational efficiency across the supply chain.

The new capital will be used to expand the commercial rollout of its solutions and further develop its tech platform, which provides product tracking and supply chain data analytics.

Strategic Capital to Scale Impact

Alongside the investment, Uvera will collaborate with LAB7 by aramco to advance the platform’s core technologies. This partnership will focus on enhancing scalability, data security, and developing smarter tracking and analytics tools.

“This round reflects investors’ confidence in our ability to combat food waste and make a tangible impact on the food supply chain,” said Dr. Asrar Damdam. “We aim to build a more efficient and resilient ecosystem, and this investment helps us bring our technologies to new partners at all stages.”
