Aswan Launches Bedayet Intag Initiative to Boost Local Entrepreneurship

Aswan Governorate has kicked off a new series of programs aimed at developing the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, with a focus on empowering women, youth, and people with disabilities. The “Bedayet Intag” (Start of Production) initiative is being implemented by the governorate’s Equal Opportunities Unit to promote self-employment and support the creation of small and micro-enterprises.

Fostering a Culture of Self-Employment

Under the supervision of Aswan Governor Amr Lashin, the initiative launched its first activities in the city of Aswan in collaboration with the Ahdaf w Resala Association for Sustainable Development. The core objective is to shift local perspectives towards entrepreneurship and provide the foundational skills needed to build sustainable businesses.

The program aims to equip participants with the tools for economic independence, contributing to job creation and improved living standards in line with Egypt’s national sustainable development goals.

Practical Training for Aspiring Founders

The initiative’s workshops focus on practical business skills. The sessions guide participants through essential topics, including sales and marketing strategies, preparing feasibility studies, and developing clear business models and project plans.

Interactive discussions are also a key component, allowing attendees to share their experiences and challenges. This peer-to-peer exchange helps in formulating practical solutions and building a supportive community for new founders.

Expanding Empowerment Across Aswan

Beyond the central workshops, the Equal Opportunities Unit is running targeted awareness seminars in other local areas. In the city of Draw, a seminar titled “Empowering Women and Developing Small Projects” was held, while a similar event in Al-Basiliya focused on women’s economic empowerment.

Another program in the city of Kalabsha, titled “Women and Decision-Making,” was organized to encourage greater participation in civic and economic life, highlighting the importance of women’s roles in comprehensive development.
