The Luxor branch of Egypt’s National Council for Women (NCW) has concluded a three-day intensive training program for recent graduates, aimed at boosting economic empowerment and fostering entrepreneurship among the region’s youth. The initiative, held in collaboration with several key state and banking institutions, provided specialized training in business management and financial literacy.

Fostering Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurial Skills
The program curriculum included specialized lectures and practical workshops designed to equip participants with essential business skills. Madeline Youssef, a certified financial literacy trainer, led sessions on the importance of financial management and effective resource allocation, highlighting financial awareness as a critical tool for overcoming economic challenges.
Further practical training was delivered by Hedir Moussa and Mohamed Abdullah from the Nile Pioneers initiative and Bank Misr’s Business Development Services Center. Their sessions focused on core entrepreneurship principles, project management, and the support mechanisms available for startups and emerging business ideas.
The initiative targeted a cohort of 58 participants, comprising 50 women and girls and 8 young men. The objective is to prepare them to act as community ambassadors, sharing their newly acquired knowledge in economic empowerment and entrepreneurship to support the state’s development goals.
A Strategic Push for Egypt’s Vision 2030
The program is part of a wider national strategy to support youth and women, aligning with Egypt’s Vision 2030 for Sustainable Development.
Dr. Amani Madani, Deputy Head of the NCW’s Luxor branch, emphasized that the economic empowerment of women is a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development. She noted that equipping youth and women with necessary skills directly contributes to creating tangible job opportunities and improving living standards.
Ibrahim Ahmed, a member of the NCW’s Luxor branch, highlighted the Egyptian state’s ongoing efforts to support and empower women, in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. He affirmed that economic empowerment has become a cornerstone for achieving comprehensive development and enhancing social protection.
