Dubai Future District Fund Backs 8 New Ventures, Expanding Portfolio to 30 With a Focus on PropTech and AI

The Dubai Future District Fund (DFDF) has added eight new investment commitments to its portfolio, bringing its total number of investments to 30. According to its latest annual report, the expansion includes five commitments to investment funds and three direct investments into high-growth startups, with a clear focus on priority sectors like PropTech and AI. The fund’s total portfolio now comprises 11 venture funds and 19 direct startup investments.

Strategic Bets on Funds and Startups

The new commitments are designed to strengthen Dubai’s innovation economy and align with the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33). The fund is notably deepening its involvement in the property technology space, with its latest round of investments including two specialized PropTech companies and two venture funds that concentrate on the sector.

In addition to deploying capital, the DFDF has focused on building strategic partnerships with global firms and organizing international roadshows to position Dubai as a hub for venture capital and innovation. These efforts aim to attract talent and high-value investments to the emirate.

“Dubai continues to solidify its position as a global center for innovation and venture capital, thanks to an integrated ecosystem that combines a forward-thinking vision, supportive regulatory frameworks, advanced infrastructure, and the ability to attract top talent, entrepreneurs, and investors from around the world,” said Khalfan Juma Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation and Chairman of the DFDF. “The role of the Dubai Future District Fund is to translate these strengths into quality investment opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and enable the next generation of global companies to launch from Dubai.”

Nader Al Bastaki, Managing Director of the Dubai Future District Fund, added that the past year was a significant milestone. “We expanded our investment portfolio with eight new commitments in investment funds and high-growth startups, with a greater focus on strategic sectors that support Dubai’s future economy,” Al Bastaki stated. “In the next phase, we will continue to diversify our portfolio, strengthen our global partnerships, and launch new initiatives to build a more robust and sustainable venture capital ecosystem.”

Fueling the Next Wave of Fund Managers

Looking ahead, the fund plans to maintain its focus on strategic sectors outlined in the D33 agenda. A key priority includes launching a new program in 2026 dedicated to supporting emerging fund managers with their first and second funds. This initiative aims to enhance diversity and resilience within the regional venture investment scene.
