Abu Dhabi’s Department of Government Enablement (DGE) has launched an AI-powered policy training programme for Executive Directors and other senior leaders involved in designing, implementing and overseeing government policies.
The programme is being delivered with Singapore-based public policy institute the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. It includes an intensive module in Singapore covering policy impact assessment, behavioural insights, policy communication, monitoring and evaluation, transformational governance and AI in government transformation.
According to the announcement, participants will learn to identify policy challenges, choose suitable policy tools, address implementation bottlenecks and engage stakeholders, with the programme aligned to Abu Dhabi’s government priorities.
The initiative supports Abu Dhabi’s AED 13 billion ($3.54B) Government Digital Strategy 2025-2027, approved in January 2025. The strategy aims to fully integrate AI into the emirate’s digital services by 2027, including full digitisation of government processes and 100% adoption of sovereign cloud computing.
More than 200 AI solutions are planned across Abu Dhabi government services. The wider strategy is also expected to add AED 24 billion ($6.53B) to the emirate’s GDP by 2027 and create more than 5,000 local jobs, according to the source.
