Syrian ride-hailing platform YallaGo says it now serves more than 1 million users across most major provinces, while generating income for tens of thousands of families.
The company was built around the country’s transportation challenges, including poor infrastructure, fuel shortages and inconsistent network coverage. Dalia al-Ghabra, YallaGo’s marketing and branding manager, told Levant24 that the platform focuses on accessible pricing, flexible payment options, quick response times and broad coverage.
According to al-Ghabra, YallaGo has developed technical systems intended to keep services running in areas with unreliable connectivity. The platform also uses driver screening and verification, road-safety training, trip tracking, driver profiles and mutual ratings to support passenger and driver accountability.
YallaGo currently accepts cash payments in Syrian pounds. An American visitor to Damascus told Levant24 that the service was easy, safe and convenient, and comparable to Uber, although the payment model differed.
The company is also considering expanding beyond ride-hailing. Potential additions include food and goods delivery, as well as intercity travel bookings. YallaGo said its longer-term vision is to develop an integrated digital services ecosystem and eventually expand beyond Syria.
