IPNation, a UAE-based platform focused on Arabic music and entertainment intellectual property, has officially launched with a strategic investment from US-based Influence Media Partners.
The company is targeting $100 million to acquire, develop and expand music catalogs, publishing rights, artist brands and entertainment intellectual property across the Middle East and North Africa. According to the announcement, IPNation will invest between $2 million and $10 million per transaction and plans to complete 10 to 20 acquisitions of established music catalogs with stable revenue streams.
IPNation was founded by Eddy Maroun, co-founder of Anghami, and Jose Maria Dot. Maroun serves as chairman and chief innovation officer, while Dot is the company’s CEO.
The platform plans to develop acquired rights into entertainment franchises spanning live shows, films, documentaries, immersive experiences, gaming, licensing, merchandise and AI-powered creative derivatives. It will also evaluate artist estates, music publishing assets and name, image and likeness rights originating from the Arab world.
Influence Media Partners, which is backed through strategic partnerships with funds and accounts managed by BlackRock, said the investment supports its expansion into the MENA region. The company’s portfolio includes music rights linked to artists such as DJ Khaled, Future and Enrique Iglesias.
