Qena University President Ahmed Akkawi has inspected construction work at the university’s Business Development Services Unit, urging contractors to meet the approved timelines and maintain implementation quality ahead of its expected opening.

The unit is being developed in cooperation with Enroot for Development, according to the university. It is intended to strengthen the university’s support for entrepreneurship and innovation while connecting research outputs with community and labour-market needs.

The facility will provide training programmes and consulting services for entrepreneurs and local business owners, as well as support for developing innovative ideas and startups. It will also help researchers and postgraduate students turn research findings into practical projects, products and solutions.

Akkawi said the unit would add to Qena’s entrepreneurship and innovation support system, while contributing to the economic empowerment of young people and supporting the governorate’s economic clusters and local businesses.
