Bahrain Development Bank has introduced the Nawa talent development programme to build the skills and leadership capabilities needed to support the country’s evolving private sector.
The programme offers high-potential employees opportunities to attend executive education programmes, advanced leadership courses and specialised professional training with institutions in Bahrain and abroad, according to the announcement.
Participants are selected from across different job levels based on the bank’s strategic priorities and current and future business needs. The aim is to prepare employees for greater responsibilities and help them respond to changes in the banking and entrepreneurship landscape.
The bank said Nawa is designed to create benefits beyond individual development. Participants are expected to apply their new knowledge in their roles and share relevant practices with colleagues, supporting knowledge transfer, succession planning and a culture of continuous learning.
The programme builds on earlier leadership development efforts, including three editions delivered with Bahrain’s Institute of Public Administration. Those programmes covered strategic problem-solving, project management and innovation. The bank has also expanded international executive learning opportunities, including participation by several executives in Harvard Corporate Learning’s leadership skills programme.
The initiative forms part of the bank’s broader focus on investing in the capabilities needed to support Bahrain’s private sector and national economic priorities.
