The Arab Youth Space Hackathon 2026 has opened applications for Challenge 813, inviting participants to build space-enabled solutions using Earth observation and hyperspectral data.
The program is open to individuals and teams of one to five members from the 22 Arab countries. Participants can work remotely and part-time on challenges spanning climate adaptation, precision agriculture, water security, blue carbon, sustainable cities and air quality. A basic relevant technical background is required, and at least 30% of participants must be aged 35 or under.
Organised by the National Space Academy under the UAE Space Agency, with Space42 as executive strategic partner, the program runs from July 2026 to February 2027. Teams will develop a proof of concept using data and tools available through Space42’s GIQ platform. Up to 20 teams can join an optional preparatory training track, while up to seven teams will advance to incubation to develop a minimum viable product. The top three teams will be recognised during the awards stage.
Applications for the hackathon close on September 25, 2026. Applications for the optional preparatory program close on August 31.
