Lebanese legal AI app askLex now works inside ChatGPT and Claude, allowing users to ask questions about Lebanese law and receive answers grounded in verified legal content, official procedures and court practice. The feature is free, according to the company.
The integration is designed for people who already turn to general-purpose AI for questions about contracts, employment rights and business matters. Instead of relying on information gathered from the wider internet, askLex says its answers are based on Lebanese law and content validated by qualified lawyers.
The app also has a safeguard for uncertain cases. When askLex is not confident enough to answer, it directs users to a lawyer rather than generating a potentially misleading response.
Founded by Lebanese lawyer May El Hachem, askLex is aimed at individuals, freelancers, founders and small businesses navigating legal and administrative issues without regular access to counsel. Its features include contract analysis, due diligence checklists, legal templates and referrals to lawyers, notaries and legal translators.
The company said it registered more than 850 users and answered over 1,000 legal questions during its first eight weeks. It is also planning support for Gemini, Perplexity and Grok.
