Tunisia’s Agency for the Promotion of Agricultural Investments (APIA) and the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (AXSAD) have signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on agricultural business incubation and innovation.
The agreement was signed on September 7, 2026, at APIA’s headquarters as part of efforts to strengthen Arab cooperation and support entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector.
According to the announcement, the partnership will focus on exchanging expertise and methodologies, organising training programmes, supporting startups and innovative agricultural projects, and building stronger links between Arab business incubators.
APIA Director General Inji Dguig said the agreement would help create a more integrated support system for agricultural entrepreneurship. She also highlighted Tunisia’s experience in assisting entrepreneurs, particularly young people and higher-education graduates, from developing an idea and securing financing through to launching and growing an investment.
AXSAD Director General Nasr al-Din al-Obaid called for the agreement to be implemented by jointly supporting promising agricultural projects. He said the two organisations could help market these projects across Arab countries and provide the technical and scientific support needed to turn them into productive ventures contributing to food and water security in Tunisia and the wider Arab region.
