Syria’s startup ecosystem is showing renewed momentum, with eight pre-seed and seed deals totaling $10.65M announced between January and July 2026, according to a new review by Arzan Venture Capital.

The deals included Doushesh, Nutra-GreeniX, Miftah, Moadna, DoctorBook, Almkhtar, Labby and My Syria App. Syria appeared on Wamda’s regional investment map with five deals worth $550,000 in the first half of 2026, followed by three deals totaling $10.1M in July, the review said.

Arzan VC estimates that more than 200 startups are currently active in the country, spanning fintech, healthtech, e-commerce, edtech, proptech and mobility. The ecosystem map includes companies such as BeeOrder, YallaGo, Quizaat, Miftah and Moadna, as well as diaspora-founded startups including nsave, MultiOn, 11x, GLAMOROUS.AI and V7.

The report also highlights the difficult conditions faced by earlier founders, including unreliable internet, fuel shortages, limited GPS coverage, cash-only transactions and a financial system disconnected from global banking. Startups such as Wasilni, Harbuk, LiBeiroot and Shiffer were built during that period, although some later shut down.

Arzan said the ecosystem’s recent revival followed the political transition in late 2024 and subsequent economic changes, including a 2025 decree allowing full foreign ownership and profit repatriation.
