Dubai-Based CoinQuant Raises Plans for $3M Seed Round After 100,000 Backtests

Dubai-based trading technology startup CoinQuant is raising a $3 million seed round as it develops no-code tools for testing and automating trading strategies, founder Maan Ftouni said.

Founded by Ftouni and shaped by its operating experience in Beirut, CoinQuant allows users to describe a trading idea in plain language and test it against historical market data. The platform reports more than 20,000 signups and over 100,000 completed backtests.

Users can review historical performance, win rates, drawdowns, fees and slippage. According to the company, AI helps formulate and refine strategies, while a deterministic testing engine uses tick-level data and trading costs to produce results.

CoinQuant is building around three areas: Build, Analyze and Automate. Planned features include identifying the market conditions in which a strategy performed poorly, alerting users when similar conditions return, and enabling live trading through the same engine used for testing.

The company is also developing HYDRA, a multi-agent AI system designed to research and propose portfolios across crypto and US equities based on user-defined risk and trading frequency requirements. CoinQuant said it is also developing controls such as spending allowances, position limits and vetoes for future autonomous AI trading agents.

The planned seed funding will support expansion into more markets, exchanges and languages, alongside live automation and AI research capabilities.
