Syria’s Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority has signed a cooperation agreement with Manar Development Foundation to support small businesses, promote entrepreneurship and help startup founders develop their ventures and reach markets.
The agreement includes the launch of “Osos,” an accelerator focused on social entrepreneurship. The programme will support youth-led startups as they move from developing an initial product to testing it in the market and securing market entry, according to the announcement.
The initiative will focus on energy and decentralised solutions, the circular economy and recycling, as well as education and skills technologies. These areas are intended to address market needs while supporting innovative solutions with social impact.
The agreement is also designed to expand partnerships supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, while helping youth-led ventures improve their business models and access markets in Damascus and its surrounding countryside.
