Sharjah’s Ruwwad Foundation, affiliated with the Sharjah Economic Development Department, has funded 63 women-led projects with a combined value exceeding AED 11.5 million since 2005, according to the foundation’s latest figures through the first half of 2026.
The foundation said 902 active businesses owned by women are currently members of its network, while more than 6,550 women have benefited from its training programs.
During the first six months of 2026, 88 women-led businesses joined the foundation, representing 30.2% of all new projects. The period also saw the addition of 18 mixed-gender ventures.
Ruwwad trained 312 female entrepreneurs through 18 programs and workshops during the same period, while 44 women took part in its events and initiatives. Women also account for all 19 national employees on the foundation’s team.
The foundation said it will continue supporting Emirati women entering entrepreneurship by providing training, experience and an environment to help turn innovative ideas into sustainable businesses in Sharjah.
