Commercial International Bank (CIB) has committed to invest up to $38.2M (EGP 2B) in MNT-Halan’s proposed offering, becoming a cornerstone investor in the international portion of the transaction.

The commitment comes as MNT-Halan prepares for a proposed listing on the Egyptian Exchange. CIB entered into the cornerstone investment agreement with MNT Tech Holding for Financial Investments and MNT Investments B.V. on September 24, 2026.

Under the agreement, CIB will purchase shares in the international offering, subject to the terms of the agreement and MNT-Halan’s offering documents. The announcement did not specify a listing date.

Founded in 2018, MNT-Halan provides business and consumer loans, prepaid cards, e-wallets, investment and e-commerce services through its Halan app and physical operations across Egypt.

CIB said the investment reflects its support for Egyptian companies and its continued focus on non-bank financial services and capital markets. MNT-Halan CEO Mounir Nakhla said the bank has been part of the company’s journey for more than 15 years and would bring market experience as it enters its next stage.
