Riyadh-based AI company Echelon has secured an undisclosed investment round backed by East40, Raed Ventures, Avra, Ben Horowitz and other investors.

Founded in Saudi Arabia, Echelon has spent about 10 months developing a model that connects AI technology providers with companies and government entities seeking to put the technology into practical use. The company works across the AI stack, from infrastructure to applications, and is implementing projects across eight sectors, including energy, telecommunications, defense, financial services and healthcare.

Its current partners include Applied Intuition, IFS and Rubrik. Echelon said it is focused on bringing AI into operational processes and developing scalable solutions for enterprises and government customers.

The company plans to launch Frontier, its enterprise AI development and deployment arm, and the Echelon Institute in the fourth quarter of 2026. The Institute’s first cohort will focus on Physical AI, with graduates expected to join Echelon, its partners and the wider Saudi AI ecosystem. Echelon Defense Industries is planned for the first quarter of 2027.

Echelon’s Technologies arm is led by Omar Saleh, a former Microsoft executive with 20 years at the company, including leadership of its Saudi enterprise business.
