Nearly half of Qatar’s small and medium-sized enterprises would consider changing providers to access an all-in-one tool combining payments with other business functions, according to Visa’s Pay and Get Paid 2026 report.
Digital payments are already widely used by the SMEs surveyed, but only 43% currently use a system that connects payments to other business tasks. Administrative work remains a challenge: 46% said tracking unpaid invoices is difficult, while 42% struggle with payroll records and 40% with financial records.
Visa found that 31% of SMEs view an integrated payment and business platform as appealing. Among those without one, 18% said their business was too small to need it, while 14% were concerned about cost and another 14% did not trust relying on a single provider.
Existing users reported positive results. Some 51% said they were satisfied, and 57% reported efficiency gains, including spending less time managing the business.
According to Visa, integrated platforms could also give banks more detailed payment and business data, helping lenders assess SME cash flow and risk and develop more relevant credit products.
“The value for SMEs increasingly lies in what those payments can enable after the transaction,” said Luca Bianconi, Visa’s vice president and country manager for Qatar.
