Oman’s Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development, known as Riyada, has honored the winning teams from the third edition of its Promising Student Projects Camp in Dhofar.

The five-day camp was organized in partnership with the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Salalah and delivered by Jahez Academy for Training and Development. It focused on helping students develop early ideas into viable startup projects while building leadership, teamwork and innovation skills.

Team Parasight took first place for a project focused on detecting and eliminating the toxic parthenium plant. Team معيار, or “Meyar,” ranked second with an electricity-saving device, while Team مدار, or “Madar,” placed third with a platform for AI agents.

According to the organizers, the program covered market and customer analysis, business model development, feasibility studies, financial planning, execution plans, market entry and startup pitching. Participants also explored how artificial intelligence applications can support new solutions.

Riyada said the camp reflects its partnership with the university and aims to support student initiatives that can develop into practical, scalable startups. The winning teams, evaluation committee, organizing committee and participating teams were recognized at the closing ceremony.
