Core42 Signs MoU With Assolombarda to Promote Sovereign AI in Lombardy

1 Min Read

Abu Dhabi-based sovereign cloud and AI infrastructure company Core42 has signed a memorandum of understanding with Assolombarda to support AI adoption and sovereign cloud use across Italy’s Lombardy region.

Assolombarda, the largest industrial association within Italy’s Confindustria system, represents 7,158 companies across Milan, Monza and Brianza, Lodi and Pavia. Its members employ more than 440,000 people.

The agreement will focus on forgIA, Assolombarda’s secure and interoperable industrial data-sharing environment. The platform is designed to support industry-specific AI applications while protecting data sovereignty and intellectual property.

According to the announcement, Core42 will share expertise in sovereign cloud and AI architecture, while the partners explore a dedicated forgIA channel offering technical guidance, workshops and support for members evaluating AI and cloud infrastructure.

The programme will also include roundtables, webinars and forums on industrial data management and cybersecurity. Assolombarda members may be connected with technology companies and capabilities across the wider G42 ecosystem, creating potential links between Italian industrial firms and UAE partners.

No financial terms were disclosed, and the MoU does not commit either party to spending.
