Qatar Development Bank (QDB) has expanded its Logistics Support Fund to QAR400 million ($110 million) to help local manufacturers cover rising raw material shipping costs.
The non-repayable grant covers up to 80% of the increase in shipping costs compared with pre-conflict levels, across all manufacturing sectors, QDB said. Companies can apply more than once.
QDB CEO Abdulrahman Al-Sowaidi said the expansion followed feedback from private-sector businesses and was intended to help national manufacturers maintain production while offsetting higher import costs.
The bank has approved 436 applications under the fund, according to Al-Sowaidi.
The support comes as freight and war-risk insurance costs have increased on routes from the Gulf to Asia. Qatar’s government also reported a 42% drop in revenue in the first half of 2026, alongside a 14% decline in spending.
