General Motors is providing a $150K grant to 11 Arab innovators from seven countries to develop projects and research in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, electric mobility, education and healthcare, according to an announcement by the Arab Youth Center.

The beneficiaries come from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Algeria and Syria. Their projects include Arabic-language AI platforms, digital twin and augmented reality technologies, quantum computing, electric mobility, and educational tools for teaching children programming and AI.

The grant will also support initiatives focused on entrepreneurship, career development, women’s and youth economic empowerment, and creative talent in the Gulf. In medical technology, the projects include prosthetics and robotic exoskeletons designed to help people with mobility disabilities move more independently.

The announcement coincided with a new memorandum of understanding between General Motors and the Arab Youth Center. The agreement expands a partnership that began in 2021, with a focus on innovation, youth skills development, training and career mentorship, and connecting Arab innovators with expertise and resources to grow their work.
