Abu Dhabi-based technology ecosystem HUB71 has signed a memorandum of understanding with UAE-based Key Capital to expand startups’ access to international investors and capital.
Under the agreement, Key Capital will join HUB71 as a capital partner and support startups seeking to enter international markets through investment guidance and connections. The firm will also take part more broadly in HUB71’s startup selection processes, programs and ecosystem events, according to the announcement.
The partnership builds on two years of collaboration through Key Trek London, Key Capital’s annual investor tour connecting MENA technology companies with investors in the UK and Europe. Over the past two years, 14 HUB71 startups have taken part in the tour and held more than 120 one-to-one meetings with investors.
Nine startups joined this year’s edition: Thndr, FlapKap, Orbii, Abhi, NymCard, NodeShift, BioSapien, eVoost AI and Synapse Analytics.
The company said the relationships have continued beyond the tour. RemotePass, a HUB71 startup, secured investment from the EBRD after an introduction during the 2024 edition of Key Trek.
Key Trek launched in 2023 to connect MENA technology companies with global investors through structured meetings and ecosystem engagement in London.
