Vodafone Qatar has selected tpay as its direct operator billing (DOB) aggregator after a competitive request for proposal process.
DOB enables customers to pay for eligible digital products and services through their mobile number. Under the agreement, tpay will connect Vodafone Qatar’s billing system with merchants and digital service providers offering the payment option. Businesses seeking to provide DOB to Vodafone Qatar customers will also connect through tpay.
Vodafone Qatar served 2.1 million mobile subscribers in the first half of 2026, according to the operator’s results.
The companies have worked together since 2018 on digital payments and service launches, including Google Play and the Apple App Store. tpay Group CEO Işık Uman said the partnership would create more opportunities for merchants and digital service providers to reach consumers in Qatar. Vodafone Qatar COO Baran Yurdagül said appointing tpay as its exclusive DOB aggregator reflects the trust built between the companies.
tpay operates across the Middle East, Turkey and Africa, and is expanding its payment network into Asia.
