The UAE has wrapped up its participation in the China International Industry Fair 2026 in Shanghai, using the event to explore partnerships in robotics, smart manufacturing and industrial automation.

A delegation led by Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, met Chinese companies including HIKROBOT, ESTUN, HollySys, Inovance, ABB Robotics and Mech-Mind Robotics. Discussions covered potential pilot projects in UAE factories, assembly, maintenance, distribution and regional expansion.

The delegation also visited companies including the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, SAIC Motor, GCL, ROX Motor, AgiBot and SEVNCE Robotics. The meetings examined cooperation in aviation supply chains, electric vehicle assembly, clean-industry materials, humanoid robotics and inspection systems for industrial and energy facilities.

According to MoIAT, testing these technologies in UAE factories could help assess their performance using real-world data while training engineers, technicians and Emirati talent in software, control systems and advanced manufacturing.

The ministry said the partnerships could give manufacturers more technology and investment options, improve cost competitiveness and support local supply-chain development. UAE factories could also become testing and demonstration sites for industrial technologies, including solutions developed through partnerships that retain intellectual property in the country.

The participation builds on the Factory Forward UAE initiative and follows recent engagements in Japan focused on robotics, automation, digital manufacturing and precision manufacturing.
