SocialLab and LAU Engine have opened applications for the AI for Impact: Lebanon Youth Hackathon 2026, a national competition inviting high school students to use artificial intelligence to address healthcare and environmental challenges.

The one-day hackathon will take place on November 14, 2026, at the Lebanese American University’s Byblos campus. Up to 50 school teams can participate, with each team made up of three to five students in Grades 10 to 12 and one school supervisor. Participation is free for selected schools.

Students will receive hands-on guidance from AI engineers, university faculty and industry experts as they develop and pitch functional prototypes. Teams can prepare preliminary ideas before the event and refine their solutions during the hackathon. The program will cover responsible AI, data privacy and practical problem-solving, with English and Arabic available as working languages.

All participants will receive certificates, while winning teams will receive recognition and prizes. Selected teams will present their projects to a jury, following confirmation and preparation instructions from the organisers.

Schools must submit their applications by November 1, 2026. Selected teams will be notified on November 5.
