Dubai has launched the Dubai Future Regulations Team, bringing together representatives from 25 government entities to help shape laws for emerging technologies and changing economic conditions.
The initiative is supervised by the Dubai Future Foundation and the Supreme Legislation Committee in Dubai. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai’s Crown Prince, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, attended the launch.
According to the announcement, the team will identify regulatory challenges, review existing legal barriers and propose practical reforms across key sectors. It will also work to strengthen legislative capabilities within government entities and support collaboration on the testing and adoption of new regulations.
The initiative includes a capacity-building program with University College London, featuring specialist workshops, expert discussions and international visits focused on global approaches to legislative innovation.
The company said the team’s work is intended to make legislative innovation a regular institutional practice and help Dubai respond more flexibly to technological, economic and social changes.
