The National Council for Women’s Assiut branch held 20 entrepreneurship training sessions for 500 women across villages and communities in the Al-Fateh and Abnoub districts during October 2026, according to the announcement.

The programme was delivered under Egypt’s National Family Development Project and the Hayah Karima initiative, with a focus on supporting women’s economic and social empowerment.

Training covered project planning and management, product marketing, and the basics of establishing small and micro businesses. The sessions aimed to help participants turn business ideas into income-generating projects and build more sustainable household earnings.

The programme reached communities including Awlad Serag, Deir Basra, Tell Awlad Serag, Beni Taleb and Beni Mur in Al-Fateh, as well as Deir El-Gabrawy, Abnoub city, Beni Mohamedeyat, Al-Sawalem Al-Bahariya and Kom Abou Shil in Abnoub.

Assiut Governor Mohamed Alwan called for continued coordination with the National Council for Women and other relevant bodies, along with wider training and awareness programmes tailored to local needs and available economic opportunities.
