The ninth Saudi Women’s Economic Forum, organised by the Eastern Chamber in Dammam, examined women’s leadership in the future economy and the role of innovation and artificial intelligence in strengthening entrepreneurship and economic sustainability.

The opening session, titled “Flexible Leadership and Sustainability: Women Leading the Future Economy,” focused on women’s role in driving economic transformation, supporting sustainability and preparing businesses for rapid change. Speakers also discussed using AI to improve the business environment and linking research and innovation outputs with industry to create new economic opportunities.

A second session explored how innovation and emerging technologies can support entrepreneurial ventures, while addressing the challenges technology products face in reaching markets and generating economic value. The forum also stressed the need for supportive regulations and testing environments where new ideas can be evaluated before wider implementation.

Two workshops accompanied the forum. “From Idea to Investment” covered the steps required to turn entrepreneurial concepts into investable businesses. “Saudi Women on Boards: Steps Towards Membership” addressed governance, board responsibilities, financial oversight and risk management, with a focus on preparing women for board roles and institutional decision-making.
