The Mazala Foundation for Entrepreneurship has officially launched SANDBOX, the first business incubator of its kind in the temporary capital of Aden. The launch, held under the patronage of the Governor of Aden, aims to create an integrated ecosystem to support entrepreneurs and innovators in the city.

A New Hub for Entrepreneurship in Aden
The SANDBOX incubator is a strategic project designed to bring together all the key components of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. In his speech at the launch, Moaz Shaibani, Director of the Mazala Foundation, stated that the mission is to connect “the state and its legislation, sources of financing from banks and institutions, project owners, trainers and consultants, and even the community itself” to create an environment where all parties can interact and integrate.
A Partnership for Local Development
This initiative is the result of a strong partnership with international support. The project is backed by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and is being implemented in partnership with the French organization Supernovae. Reem Al-Sufi, the Executive Director of the Mazala Foundation, noted that this incubator has been a strategic goal for the foundation since 2022 and that the 18-month project will provide a space for youth to start their journey in entrepreneurship with ease.
What Startups Will Receive
The incubator will provide comprehensive support to the 100 entrepreneurs selected for the first phase. This includes:
- A physical space to begin their work.
- Training courses and specialized workshops.
- Mentorship from experts in the field of entrepreneurship.
- Support in creating partnerships and marketing.
